Five photograph albums containing photographs of mining activity mostly in Cananea, Mexico and Bisbee, Arizona, ca. 1907 to 1920, and photographs of the exit of the Federales and entrance of Juan Carbal and the Maderistas into Cananea in May 1911. Included are photographs of Mexican President Venustiano Carranza and images of Yaqui soldiers. There are also photographs of fires and floods in Bisbee between 1908 and 1912.

Chief Geologist and Mine Superintendent, Elsing arrived in Arizona in 1907 and worked for the Phelps Dodge Copper Queen Mine in Bisbee. In 1910, he was chief geologist and mine superintendent for the Cananea Consolidated Copper Company in Sonora, Mexico.
